About The Position

The Plant Associate ensures waste is unloaded from vehicles, vehicles are decontaminated, and waste is staged for scanning and processing. The work must be performed safely and productively. The role operates in inside garage, shop, or gas plant conditions as well as outside conditions that may include inclement weather, heat, and humidity. It is designated safety sensitive and requires strict compliance with safety rules and protocols. Ongoing employment may involve drug and alcohol testing in accordance with government regulations and company policies.

Requirements

At least 1 year of experience, preferably in a plant environment.
Ability to communicate effectively and understand and follow applicable health and safety directives, performance and conduct standards, policies, and procedures.

Valid driver's licence.

Responsibilities

Unload waste from incoming vehicles and separate non-autoclavable waste for incineration.
Stage waste on the conveyor system or stack it for scanning in the Biotrack system.
Scan waste into the Biotrack system for recordkeeping.
Load autoclave bins or the incinerator hopper with waste for processing.
Place reusable containers on the tub wash line for decontamination.
Operate the tub wash unit, confirm proper operation, remove and inspect clean tubs, and stack them for loading onto the assigned vehicle for reuse.
Operate the tub wash sprayer for oversized reusable tubs, confirm proper operation, and inspect and stack tubs for loading onto the assigned vehicle for reuse.
Decontaminate vehicle cargo-carrying areas, reload assigned reusable tubs, ensure there is no free liquid on the cargo-area floor, and inform the plant supervisor when the vehicle is ready to move from the dock area.
Address housekeeping issues immediately, including cleaning spills, keeping floors dry, and removing debris.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
