Reporting to the Chief Engineer, Power Plant and under general supervision, operates microprocessor-controlled medical waste autoclave system. Monitors performance of operations by means of gauges, valves, video display and visual observations. Cleans, inspects, maintains and repairs high-pressure boilers and makes necessary repairs to auxiliary equipment such as conveyors, scrubbers and hydraulic drive augers. Ensures the medical waste autoclave system is operated within the guidelines mandated by the Division of Environmental Management.
