Under the supervision of the Transportation Coordinator, the Medical Transporter is responsible for the direct transportation of physically limited passengers to and from their destinations. This position requires constant interaction with caregivers and community agencies. The work hours will vary based on need, with shifts ranging from 2 to 8 hours per day when called upon, not exceeding 15 hours per week. The Medical Transporter will also participate as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team, attend staff meetings, and take part in participant care planning. They will communicate any changes in participant condition to team members and observe each participant for any change in physical, mental, emotional and social functioning, reporting such changes to the licensed nurse. The driver must exhibit exceptional customer service to patients, families, case managers, facilities, physicians, and nurses.
