About The Position

Mount Regis Center is looking for a part-time driver to transport patients to and from the facility. This position averages 15-25 hours per week and requires the driver to live in the Roanoke/Salem area due to short-term notice for transportation needs. The role involves driving longer distances if needed and working weekends. Candidates in recovery must have at least one year of sobriety.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Valid State Driver’s License required.
Must live in the Roanoke/Salem area.
Must be willing to work flexible hours.
Must be able to drive longer distances if needed.
Must be able to work weekends.
If in recovery, must be one year sober.

Nice To Haves

CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
First aid may be required based on state or facility.

Responsibilities

Safely transport patients to and from appointments, activity trips, airport shuttle service, and other special events.
Pick up or transport visitors or staff as needed.
Transport patients for admissions and discharges.
Ensure all passengers are wearing seatbelts before the vehicle is started.
Drive company facility vehicle to pick up supplies or equipment, as needed.
Respond to and adhere to the "on call" schedule as required.
Accurately and appropriately complete all transportation documentation.
Maintain vehicle log(s) and report maintenance issues to appropriate facility staff.
Ensure all company vehicles are kept clean and functional.
Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards customers at all times.
Acknowledge and work to resolve patient complaints when needs are not met.
Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.
