About The Position
Dynacare is seeking a Medical Transcriptionist to join their Histology team in Brampton, Ontario. The role involves listening to medical reports recorded by healthcare practitioners and transcribing them into written form. This is a contract full-time position for 12 months, with a shift from Monday to Friday, 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., and is an onsite role.
Requirements
- Completion of a Medical Office Administration training program with previous experience in medical terminology and transcription
- Demonstrated ability to data enter 40 WPM with 80% accuracy
- Advanced ability to proof-read, identify and correct errors
- Ability to multitask and work in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to self-manage, prioritize and collaborate in a team-oriented, high volume and time sensitive environment
Responsibilities
- Prepare consultation reports for Pathologists and maintain records of incoming and outgoing reports
- Maintain metrics such as turn-around-time audits, monthly report totals, report tracking time audits and other specialized reports
- Perform administrative duties such as updating manuals, policies and procedures and preparing business documents such as minutes, memos, letters and labels
- Assist the Pathologists and department head with special projects and surgical pathology QA program work
- Other duties as assigned by the superior
