About The Position

Eurofins Scientific is an international life sciences company providing a unique range of analytical testing services. The Compliance Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager and performs product safety evaluations and certification testing for electrical and electronic equipment in accordance with national and international safety standards. This role involves reviewing product designs, performing safety testing, interpreting standards requirements, and preparing certification reports for equipment seeking NRTL certification, IEC CB Scheme Certification, and CE Informative Test Reports. The engineer works closely with lab technicians and clients, including constant communication, to ensure products meet applicable regulatory and safety requirements.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a technical field (electrical engineering, technology), minimum.
  • Minimum 3-5+ years of experience working in an NRTL Laboratory (UL, CSA, TUV, Intertek, Eurofins) and familiar with basic safety standards.
  • Familiarity with Core Safety standards: 62368-1, 61010-1, 60335-1.
  • Familiarity with Medical Standards: 60601-1 and -2 particulars.
  • Able to independently draft test plans, write NRTL, CB, CE reports.
  • Ability to communicate with clients and draft coherent, professional emails.
  • Ability to read, interpret the standard and understand the requirements.
  • Ability to perform testing in a test laboratory.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Product Safety Evaluation: Evaluating electrical and electronic equipment for compliance with applicable safety standards, reviewing schematics, critical components, and construction details, identifying potential safety hazards (electric shock, fire, energy hazards, mechanical risks), and drafting applicable test programs and test reports.
  • Lab Testing: Developing test plans and test datasheets, performing and/or witnessing safety testing, and analyzing test results to determine compliance.
  • Technical Documentation: Preparing certification reports and technical documentation, documenting product construction details and safety critical components, and maintaining clear and accurate records of all testing and evaluation activities.
  • Client Support: Communicating technical findings and compliance requirements, providing guidance on non-compliance findings, and participating in technical meetings and providing support to Sales on client calls.
