About The Position

UP Health System Marquette is seeking a Medical Technologist for their General Lab. This is a 1.0 FTE position with varied shifts. The Medical Technologist performs diagnostic testing on patient samples to assist physicians in diagnosing and monitoring disease states. This position reports to the Director of Laboratory Services. The role involves occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens and requires regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood and bodily fluids, hazardous medications, and latex. The position does not directly treat or care for patients but accesses demographic, clinical, insurance, financial, and complete medical records.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• Medical Technologist licensure through ASCP or AMT preferred (licensure must reflect education requirements).
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Valid driver license
• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP); ASCP or equivalent registry
