This position is a full time 2nd shift lab generalist position. Hours are usually 2:30pm-11:00pm. Every third weekend, and 2 holidays per year based on a pre-determined rotation. Start times and weekend rotation may change in the future based on business needs. This position will rotate between the following laboratory departments: Hematology/Coagulation, Gram Stains, and Chemistry/Urinalysis. Possible opportunity to train and work in Blood Bank. All training, approximately 8 weeks, will be scheduled on 1st shift and will be completed before joining the weekend/holiday rotation. Either an MLS or MLT candidate is acceptable and no experience is required. ProHealth Care offers a system-wide laboratory operation with core hospital labs at Waukesha Memorial and Oconomowoc Memorial as well as two clinic-based laboratory sites in Waukesha County. The laboratory performs over 8 million tests annually. Our Lab services operate state of the art facilities and include clinical testing in the areas of Histology, Cytology, Hematology, Coagulation, Clinical Chemistry, Urinalysis, Immunoassay, Microbiology, Transfusion service, EIA, and Molecular Biology. ProHealth Care offers a vibrant outreach program, providing laboratory testing to numerous specialty hospitals, physician offices, nursing home, and assisted living facilities. Our Pathologists and PhDs work closely with lab employees to monitor quality, as well as identify, access, and implement new technology. The Laboratory has certification and accreditation through the College of American Pathologists (CAP), American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA). We have nearly 5,000 dedicated clinical and non-clinical employees and physicians who work together every day to serve the health and well-being of our community. Medical Technologists, or Medical Laboratory Scientists, perform moderate to high complexity testing within the Clinical Laboratory. Prepares samples for examination, using automated equipment and specialized instrumentation. Performs numerous complicated tests simultaneously; accurately evaluates correlates and interprets test results.
