Medical Technologist, MLS or MLT - Waukesha Memorial - 3rd Shift, 7/70
About The Position
ProHealth Care Laboratory Services is seeking a Medical Technologist, MLS or MLT, to join their team at Waukesha Memorial. This is a 7/70 position on 3rd shift, with a schedule that includes 7 days worked followed by 7 days off, totaling 70 hours worked per pay period. The role is a Generalist, covering all benches of the WMH Lab, including Blood Bank, Hematology, Coag, Urinalysis, and Chemistry/Blood Gasses. Training, approximately 12 weeks, will be conducted on 1st shift before transitioning to night shifts. Both MLS and MLT candidates are acceptable, and while experience is preferred, it is not required.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or MLS or Associate's in Medical Lab Tech (MLT)
- Medical Technologist (MT) certification issued by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) certification issued by the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) needs to be obtained within 6 months, or Medical Technologist (MT) certification issued by the American Medical Technologists (AMT) needs to be obtained within 6 months
- Under approved circumstances, an extension may be granted for an additional 6 months.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with specimen processing is a bonus.
- Experience is preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Work in all benches of the WMH Lab: Blood Bank, Hematology, Coag, Urinalysis, and Chemistry/Blood Gasses.
- Perform moderate to high complexity testing within the Clinical Laboratory.
- Prepare samples for examination using automated equipment and specialized instrumentation.
- Perform numerous complicated tests simultaneously.
- Accurately evaluate, correlate, and interpret test results.
- Rotate between all laboratory departments (Hematology/Coagulation, Chemistry/Urinalysis and Blood Bank).
