The Medical Technologist or Technician ensures that all necessary steps are taken to provide that the quality of work performed is within the guidelines of clinical variance and acceptability. This role involves specimen processing, test performance, and reporting test results while adhering to laboratory procedures and quality control policies. The technologist must also perform preventive maintenance on instruments, manage supplies and reagents, and maintain a safe and clean work environment. Additionally, they are responsible for learning insurance contract requirements, collecting specimens, and providing excellent customer service.
