About The Position

A Medical Technologist performs diagnostic testing on patient samples to aid physicians in the diagnosis and/or monitoring of various disease states. This role involves following standardized procedures, preparing and collecting samples, analyzing bodily fluids and substances for abnormalities, and studying blood samples used in transfusions. The Medical Technologist operates laboratory equipment effectively, analyzes test results for accuracy and acceptability, and reports findings according to organizational standards. They also perform automated tests using computerized and automated equipment and conduct Quality Assurance work to ensure equipment accuracy.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree Preferred
• Medical Technologist License through ASCP or AMT Preferred

Responsibilities

• Follows standardized procedures and helps prepare samples for testing
• Collects samples and analyze bodily fluids and substances for abnormalities
• Collects blood and study blood samples used in transfusions
• Operates laboratory equipment in a high-quality, effective manner
• Analyzes test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits, and reports/documents results per organizational standards
• Performs automated tests using computerized instruments & automated equipment
• Runs tests and analyzes the results to be reported to the physician or registered nurse
• Performs Quality Assurance work to ensure accuracy of equipment
