About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Medical Technologist for a long-term assignment in Cleveland, Ohio. The ideal candidate will perform and interpret laboratory testing at all complexity levels while maintaining compliance with laboratory quality, regulatory, and safety standards in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Biological, Clinical, or Medical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology from an accredited institution required OR Must meet CLIA qualifications for high complexity testing personnel
  • Medical Technologist (MT) certification or certification eligibility preferred through ASCP or AMT
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong understanding of laboratory quality control and regulatory standards
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced clinical environment
  • Ability to perform detailed visual work, including microscope use
  • Ability to distinguish color variations accurately
  • Fine motor skills and manual dexterity required for specimen handling and equipment operation
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting as needed

Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory testing and interpret results accurately across multiple complexity levels
  • Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, analysis, reporting, and documentation
  • Correlate abnormal laboratory findings with pathological conditions and determine the need for additional testing
  • Monitor and verify quality controls, calibrations, and maintenance procedures
  • Maintain compliance with CLIA regulations and laboratory quality assurance standards
  • Troubleshoot testing discrepancies and implement corrective actions when necessary
  • Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment according to manufacturer specifications
  • Maintain accurate and legible laboratory documentation and records
  • Participate in proficiency testing and competency assessments
  • Communicate laboratory results and specimen requirements to authorized personnel
  • Support training and education activities for laboratory staff and students as needed
