About The Position
The Medical Technologist will perform and provide accurate laboratory test results on human patients. Responsibilities include preparing and issuing blood components for patient transfusions, assisting in the collection and transport of patient samples, handling hazardous materials, requisitioning and maintaining inventory of supplies, and supervising/training students and lower-level technicians. The role also involves operating complex specialized laboratory instruments and instructing others in their use.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and successful completion of a National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS) Medical Technologist program
- Five years' clinical lab experience, or two years' clinical lab experience with Medical Lab Tech (MLT) certification.
- Medical Technologist (MT) ASCP certification required.
- Ability to communicate on a professional level with physicians, nurses and other ancillary professional staff when discussing procedures.

- Previous experience as Medical Technologist preferred.
Responsibilities

- Operates complex specialized laboratory instruments; instructs other personnel in the use and operations of these instruments.
- Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
