About The Position

Performs and interprets microbiology laboratory tests in the Clinical Laboratory to support the diagnosis and care of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The role requires the ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures in accordance with proper standards and regulations. A color-acuity screening test is required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology, from an accredited institution, and eligibility for an appropriate certification examination; or an associate degree in laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, or Clinical Laboratory Scientist; or graduation from a military science program and the stated certification; or qualifying as a technologist on or before February 28, 1992, with current certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
• Acceptable certifying agencies include ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, and HHS (HEW).
• Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to proper standards and regulations.
• Must submit to a color-acuity screening test.
