About The Position
Phoebe Physician Group, Inc. is seeking a Medical Technologist in Albany, Georgia. This full-time position involves providing laboratory information through analytical tests on human body substances. The role requires correlating and interpreting test data to detect or prevent disease, promote health, and monitor well-being. Responsibilities include monitoring quality assurance, maintaining laboratory instrumentation with documentation, and adhering to established guidelines to provide clinical information to healthcare professionals. Phlebotomy duties may also be required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in medical technology (or foreign equivalent)
- 1 year experience in clinical laboratory in similar discipline
- Clinical laboratory scientist certification through CGFNS
- Medical laboratory scientist certification by one of the following: ASCP, AMT, NCA or AAB
Responsibilities
- Provide laboratory information based on the performance of analytical tests on human body substances
- Correlate and interpret test data to detect evidence of or prevent disease or impairment and to promote and monitor good health
- Monitor quality assurance and maintain laboratory instrumentation including all documentation
- Follow established guidelines and protocols to provide requested clinical information to physicians, nurses, and other relevant health care personnel
- Perform phlebotomy duties as needed
