Specialist technologists analyze blood, urine, and bone marrow and body fluid specimens in order to provide data that helps our physicians determine the best treatment for their patient. Automated and manual techniques are routinely used to properly evaluate samples in patients with a wide range of clinical conditions. Testing responsibilities include moderate and high complexity assays which are performed in compliance with accrediting organizations as well as departmental policies and procedures. The specialist technologist may be required to evaluate results, troubleshoot, and assist in developing new test methods. This position provides direct line supervision to professional and technical staff in the Stem Cell Processing Lab section. The specialist technologist coordinates and assists in teaching and training students and residents, as well as maintenance of the lab section's QA, regulatory compliance and standard operating procedures.
