About The Position
Performs routine Microbiology tasks plus assists in another discipline (to be determined based on expertise). Prepares specimens for microscope examination. Operates laboratory equipment including Vitek, Virtuo, centrifuges, and incubators. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. This role covers weekends in Microbiology on a rotational basis and requires cross-training in another area to help assist coverage.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited MT program
- Passing a national exam given by the Board of Registry of the American Society for Clinical Pathology or equivalent (AMT)
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
