About The Position

Hillsdale Hospital is seeking a dedicated Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Technician (MT or MLT) to join our team. This is a full-time position working four 10-hour days per week on the second shift, from 1:30 pm to midnight. We offer a competitive hourly premium for the second shift, as well as a weekend premium. Requirements

Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master's degree in medical laboratory technology, clinical laboratory science, chemistry, or biology
BLS certification (available through Hillsdale Hospital)

Responsibilities

Perform qualitative and quantitative tests and examinations using various analyzer and/or manual methods on specimen sources such as blood, urine, and other body fluids
Responsible for all regulatory compliance issues necessary for accreditation
Establish written policies and procedures for a comprehensive quality assurance program, patient test management, quality control, test procedure and policy manuals
Assess accuracy and validity of obtained test results by applying knowledge of relevant scientific principles, recognize changes that are critical to patient care, identify probable causes for irregular and atypical findings
Troubleshoot instruments and resolves technical problems, documenting corrective action and initiating remedial action
