This role is responsible for providing quality and rapid lab results by utilizing knowledge of laboratory analyses, proper procedures, work equipment, and safety procedures. The position involves following established laboratory protocols for specimen handling, test analysis, reporting, and record maintenance. A key aspect of the role is adhering to quality control policies, documenting all quality control activities, and performing instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance. The Medical Technologist/Technician will also be responsible for ordering supplies, assisting healthcare professionals with patient care, handling requests efficiently, and troubleshooting any issues that may affect test performance or results. This position requires a thorough understanding of medical technology principles, the ability to perform a broad range of tests, and proficiency in using and maintaining laboratory instrumentation. The role also demands the ability to integrate and correlate test results with other laboratory data and clinical information, and to make comprehensive analytical correlations of laboratory results with patient symptoms and diagnoses. Proficiency in venipuncture, fingerstick collections, and drug screen collections is essential. The position requires annual CPR certification and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with varying patient volumes.
