This role is responsible for providing quality and rapid lab results by utilizing knowledge of laboratory analyses, proper procedures, work equipment, and safety procedures. The position involves following established laboratory protocols for specimen handling, test analysis, reporting, and record maintenance. A key aspect of the job is adhering to quality control policies, documenting all quality control activities, and performing instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance. The role also includes ordering necessary lab, x-ray, and medical supplies, assisting healthcare professionals with patient care, and managing physician/extender/nurse requests efficiently. Troubleshooting and resolving issues that may affect test performance or reporting are critical, as is maintaining cleanliness and organization of the lab and treatment areas. Continuous learning through mandatory training, continuing education, and staff meetings is expected. The position requires flexibility to work at different centers and availability to assist as needed, with the understanding that breaks may be interrupted. Proficiency in using the medical record system and working collaboratively with colleagues and trainees is also essential. The role involves operating and maintaining medical and office equipment, participating in maintenance assignments, and completing other directed duties.
