About The Position

The Staff Medical Technologist will perform various chemical, microscopic, bacteriological, and immunological tests to obtain data used in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Ensure that the Q.C. and maintenance are performed as appropriate. Instruct new technologists, technicians, and students. Assist with troubleshooting instructions as appropriate. Assist in requisitioning necessary supplies, reagents, and blood components.

Requirements

For MT: Bachelor’s degree and graduate from an approved school of medical technology.
For MLT: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
For MLT: 60 semester hours or equivalent from an accredited institution that includes at least 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses, OR 24 semester hours of science courses (six semester hours of chemistry, six semester hours of biology, and 12 semester hours of chemistry, biology or medical laboratory technology in any combination).
For MLT: Laboratory training including completion of a clinical laboratory training program approved or accredited by ABHES or CAAHEP, OR at least three months documented laboratory training in each specialty in which high complexity testing is performed.
Certification or eligibility for certification by American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or (AMT) American Medical Technologist.
