About The Position

The Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Technician performs and reports results for routine and specialized clinical laboratory analyses on specimens of all types, following established protocols and working under appropriate supervision. The position is responsible to the Director of Laboratory Services. The role is PRN, with varying shifts that include night shifts. Applicants must complete the application in its entirety to be considered for an interview.

Requirements

• An associate degree in Medical Technology, a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or a related field, or graduation from an accredited school of Medical Technology and/or the experience level for certification required by the Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI).
• MT certification from ASCP or an equivalent certifying agency within one year of employment.
• MLT certification from ASCP or an equivalent certifying agency within one year of employment.
• Knowledge and ability to perform in all areas of the clinical laboratory.
• Numerical, clerical, and computer abilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Critical-thinking skills.
• Successful completion of a background check, lab work, and immunization-record review is required as a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of one year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting is preferred.
