Medical Technologist/Medical Lab Technician - Chemistry - Overnight
About The Position
Sunrise Medical Laboratories, Inc., part of Sonic Healthcare USA, is hiring a Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Technician for its Chemistry department in Hicksville, New York. This full-time, benefits-eligible laboratory role works overnight, from 11:59 p.m. to 8:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, with rotating Saturdays, for 40 scheduled hours per week. The hourly rate is $38.00–$54.00 for Medical Technologists and $30.00–$49.00 for Medical Lab Technicians. The position is eligible for a sign-on bonus. The role supports the company’s mission to provide high-quality laboratory testing and improve community health. The employee performs moderate- and high-complexity testing using Roche 775 and immunoassay analyzers, reviews and reports test and quality-control results, takes remedial action when needed, and follows laboratory procedures for specimen handling, quality assurance, and safety. Requirements
- New York State license as a Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Technician.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related field.
- ASCP certification.
Responsibilities
- Perform moderate- and high-complexity testing using Roche 775 and immunoassay analyzers.
- Analyze, review, and report test results and quality-control results, taking remedial action when indicated.
- Ensure specimen integrity by following laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing.
- Follow departmental policies and procedures, including quality-control, quality-assurance, and safety programs.
