Requirements

• Minimum Work Experience 2 years in clinical specialty
• Minimum Education Bachelor’s degree
• Valid driver license
• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP); ASCP or equivalent registr
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Nice To Haves

• 1-year previous Lead Tech or management experience Preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs procedures/ protocols in Cytology, Histology, and Pathology.
• Receives and assigns accession numbers to tissue and fluid specimens and logs them into the AP computer system.
• Processes curettings and routine TUR and bone marrow specimens. Reports any abnormal or suspicious appearing specimens.
• Prepares sections of body tissue specimens by fixation, decalcification, dehydration, and embedding for examination by a pathologist.
• Maintains work area in a safe, aseptic and organized manner.
• Performs and monitors quality control, calibration, and corrective/ preventative maintenance on equipment, instruments, and tests.
