Identifies, processes, and documents laboratory specimens for the purpose of assessing and monitoring patient status. This role involves developing and establishing procedures for collecting, processing, and analyzing biological specimens and other substances. The Medical Technologist performs and reports analytical tests, integrating and relating data from various clinical laboratory departments. They confirm abnormal results, verify quality control procedures, and develop solutions to problems related to laboratory data generation. Additionally, this position involves establishing and performing preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment, identifying repair sources, and supporting laboratory goals through teamwork, service excellence, and process improvement. The role also includes working with medical laboratory science students during educational activities.
