Medical Technologist 1 (Flow Cytometry)

University of MiamiMiami, FL
Onsite

About The Position

The Uhealth Laboratories Department at the University of Miami has an exciting opportunity for a Medical Technologist 1. The Medical Technologist 1 (H) performs and analyzes routine blood, urinalysis, and coagulation procedures, and reviews the results of complex scientific tests on blood and bodily fluids. Additionally, the incumbent collaborates with physicians and laboratory management on patient data. This role involves performing high-complexity flow cytometry testing including immunophenotyping for leukemia/lymphoma, stem cell enumeration (CD34), lymphocyte subset analysis, flow cytometry MRD, and other clinically indicated assays. The technologist will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot flow cytometers, prepare and process patient specimens, analyze and interpret flow cytometry data, and verify, document, and release test results. They will also perform quality control, participate in method validation, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and collaborate with clinical teams. The position may also involve assisting with stem cell processing and transplant support testing, maintaining records, providing technical guidance, and supporting laboratory operations during peak times or staffing shortages.
