Requirements

  • Associate Of Nursing Nursing
  • Two (2) years RN experience within applicable clinical specialty and/or charge nurse experience
  • Registered Nurse: AZ, upon hire
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within six (6) months

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients.
  • Advocate for fellow nurses and support them in reaching their full potential, aligning with department's operational goals and objectives.
  • Mentor others in areas such as competency, documentation, equipment use, plan of care, National Patient Safety Goals, and participation in inservice education.
  • Evaluate care given by staff, coach to improve care, and ensure standard of care is maintained.
  • Provide direct patient care as needed.
  • Exhibit a general understanding of the process for dealing with ethical dilemmas and understand and coordinate the process for obtaining an Ethics Consult.
  • Coordinate patient flow on the unit to facilitate the provision of timely and effective care.
  • Attend hospital-wide bed board meetings.
