About The Position
Certified Medical Assistant performs a variety of clinical and clerical functions, in accordance with established policies and procedures, to assist the practitioners and management in daily office operations. This is a technical position with no supervisory responsibility. As a Certified Medical Assistant in our Primary Care and Multi-Specialty practice you will: Prep and assist in the exam room, Triage Patients, Collects urine and draw blood samples, Take and record height, weight, blood pressure, temperature, and pulse of patients. This is a Full- time 37.5hr per week position with varied hours of 8:00AM to 7:00PM with a Monday through Friday and alternate Saturdays schedule. This position is located in Staten Island. Must be flexible to work and float to other locations if needed at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Medical Group.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
- A minimum of one-year medical assistant experience or internship in a physician practice
- National Medical Assistant Certification
- Current Medical Assistant Certification (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification through AAMA, AMT, NHA or NCCT
Nice To Haves
- Medical Assistant experience within a primary care and Multispecialty healthcare setting.
- Strong Phlebotomy experience preferred
- Bilingual- English; Polish; Russian; and Spanish speaking
