Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN), New Grads Welcome! 36 hours/week, rotating shifts
About The Position
Johnson 2 is a 30-bed adult surgical unit with an average length of stay of 3.4 days and an average daily census of 22 patients. Most admissions come from the postoperative anesthesia care unit (PACU), followed by emergency department admissions for orthopedic, surgical, or gastrointestinal diagnoses. The unit has 12 private rooms and 9 semi-private rooms, each accommodating two patients. It generally cares for patients aged 18 and older with surgical conditions, from young adults to geriatric patients. Patients are generally admitted to the surgical service or to a hospitalist with the surgeon as consultant. As a Registered Nurse on the Inpatient Team, you will assess patients, administer medications and treatments, monitor progress, evaluate therapies and collaborate with physicians and other medical professionals to develop care plans. You will also support and educate patients and their loved ones to help achieve maximum outcomes.
Requirements
- Massachusetts RN license required.
- BLS (AHA) required.
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred.
- Current experience on a postoperative medical-surgical unit preferred.
Responsibilities
