About The Position

Emory Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Clinician for their Medical Surgical department. This role involves providing comprehensive care to patients, utilizing broad experience and a deep understanding of a specific patient population. The RN Clinician is expected to apply the Synergy Model for Care, personalizing care for each patient and family, and serving as a resource and advocate for colleagues. The position requires delivering safe and effective nursing care, performing thorough patient assessments, developing and implementing care plans, and accurately documenting care in electronic and physical records. The role also involves identifying patient and family learning needs, recognizing cultural differences, delegating appropriately, and collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary teams. Additionally, the RN Clinician will function in a developing leadership role, potentially including Charge Nurse responsibilities, assisting in orienting staff and students, and demonstrating strong communication and conflict resolution skills. They will also identify the need for policy revisions based on research, engage in professional growth, and collect/analyze data to improve patient care and meet organizational standards.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), AND 12 months of recent nursing experience within the past five years, OR Recent completion of a re-entry nursing program.
  • Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with a minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience within the past five years.
  • A valid, unencumbered Registered Nursing License approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing.
  • BLS certification.
  • If completing virtual care activities that may include multi-state practice, an active compact/multistate license (eNLC) is required within 60 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS may be required for certain departments, post hire.
  • Additional certifications may be required based on department and specialty.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, effective, and independent nursing care using the nursing process.
  • Perform thorough patient assessments and recognize the impact of nursing care on outcomes.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans, incorporating patient/family input and adjusting as needed.
  • Document care accurately and efficiently in electronic and physical records.
  • Identify patient and family learning needs, recommending appropriate resources.
  • Recognize cultural differences and individualize care accordingly.
  • Delegate appropriately using the Synergy Model of Care.
  • Work effectively with the interdisciplinary team, patient, and family care partners.
  • Function in a developing leadership role, including Charge Nurse responsibilities when assigned.
  • Assist in orienting staff and students in the absence of a designated preceptor.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Identify the need for policy revisions based on evidence-based research.
  • Engage in professional growth and actively apply the Synergy Model for Care in practice.
  • Collect, report, and analyze data to improve patient care and meet organizational standards.
  • Participate in surveys, interviews, and other methods to identify and resolve areas for improvement.
  • Maintain required points and contact hours per the clinical lattice PLAN system.
