About The Position

The Medical/Surgical/eICU Supervisor supports daily departmental operations, clinical excellence, and staff development while assisting with direct patient care as needed. In collaboration with the Director of Medical/Surgical/eICU, this role helps oversee staff orientation, education, competency management, quality improvement initiatives, and policy compliance to ensure safe, high-quality patient care. This position also supports Swing Bed Program coordination and regulatory compliance activities.

Requirements

Two-year degree in nursing required.
Must hold and maintain Wisconsin Registered Nurse license.
BLS certification required or obtained within 1 month of hire.
ACLS certification required or obtained within 6 months of hire.
3+ years of clinical Nursing experience required.
Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.
Intermediate proficiency with computers is required.
Excellent clinical skills and problem-solving skills required
Ability to plan, organize and prioritize effectively with staff, patients, and public.
Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and de-escalation skills.
Ability to have continuous oral and written communication with patients, co-workers, and supervisors is essential.

Responsibilities

Provides direct patient care support and assists staff as needed to ensure safe, high-quality patient care delivery
Demonstrates strong clinical judgment and the ability to respond decisively and provide leadership during emergency situations
Assists with orientation, onboarding, and training of new department staff
Supports policy, procedure, and competency management to ensure regulatory compliance and staff readiness
Researches and promotes evidence-based practices to support clinical excellence and patient outcomes
Assists with annual staff evaluations and ongoing performance feedback processes
Collaborates with the Department Director on day-to-day departmental operations and workflow management
Partners with leadership to support staff education, training, and competency development initiatives
Participates in quality improvement activities, including data collection and performance improvement projects
Assists with oversight of the Swing Bed Program, including referral management, MDS coordination, and compliance monitoring
