About The Position

As a health division of the Confederated Tribes of the Goshute Reservation, Sacred Circle Healthcare preserves the Goshute heritage of protecting and caring for family and extends the tradition to all marginalized and underserved populations in their area. They refuse to let access, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status restrict someone from receiving complete healthcare. Sacred Circle Healthcare is seeking a full-time Medical Support Staff Manager for their Wendover, Utah location. The Medical Support Staff Manager position is responsible for providing management and oversight of daily medical support activities for the Primary Care Department. The Manager works in partnership with the Clinical Ancillary Services Director and other departments to ensure the provision of optimal patient care and ensure attainment of the organizational mission.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a Nationally Recognized Training Facility for Medical Assistants.
  • Minimum of 8 years as a Medical Assistant and at least 2 years as a Medical Assistant Supervisor (or similar leadership role.)
  • Current BLS Certification and Active National Medical Assistant Certification are required.
  • Demonstrate strong skills in the management of MA’s and RN’s.
  • Expert ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
  • Expert skill in assisting with patient care.
  • Strong communication skills, including writing, speaking and active listening.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Ability to preserve confidentiality of information.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 10 years as a Medical Assistant and at least 3 years as a Medical Assistant Supervisor (or similar leadership role.)
  • Experience working with the Native American community.
  • Experience in an acute or emergency care setting

Responsibilities

  • Oversees clinical operations in the assigned area(s) including: support staff scheduling, patient flow and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Reviews and updates assigned support staff hours in pay recording program and ensure they are updated in a timely manner for bi-weekly pay periods.
  • Develops guidelines for prioritizing work activities, evaluating effectiveness and modifying activities as necessary to ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained.
  • Reviews and updates MA hours in pay recording program and ensure it is updated in a timely manner for the bi-weekly pay periods.
  • Works under the direction of the Clinical Ancillary Services Director to ensure appropriate policies and procedures are being endorsed this includes: performing quarterly one-on-one’s, annual reviews, performing/documenting needed coaching and/or initial write-ups for the assigned support staff.
  • Collaborates with Operations Managers to ensure front office staff are following appropriate workflows and scheduling templates.
  • Handles patient complaints that occur in the assigned clinical area(s).
  • Monitors support staff needs and assists as needed – examples: assisting with patient care, performing nurse visits, assisting the triage RN with patient visit prioritization.
  • Performs duties related to product management, inventory management, and cost of goods.
  • Assists with training MA’s in conjunction with the MA Trainer.
  • Works with HR and the Clinical Ancillary Services Director with the hiring of MA’s and RN’s.
  • Acts as the VFC Coordinator for their approved site(s).
  • Participates in professional development activities and maintains indicated professional affiliations.
  • Attends required meetings and participates in committees as directed by the Clinical Ancillary Services Director.
  • Reads, understands, and adheres to all Sacred Circle Health Care Policies and Procedures.
  • Practices and adheres to the Code of Conduct and Mission and Values Statements.
  • Other assignments as indicated by Clinical Ancillary Services Director.
  • Other Duties as Assigned.
