About The Position

Manages daily department operations, supervises team members, and ensures clinical compliance. Oversees the complete credentialing workflow from initial application to final approval to verify all staff qualifications while actively managing clinical and behavioral quality assurance. Key responsibilities include auditing department funds, coordinating complex schedules, and analyzing productivity reports to drive continuous operational improvement.

Requirements

  • Equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare or Business Administration or a closely related field
  • Five (5) years of experience in medical staff management or related field in a major hospital setting
  • Valid certification from the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) as a Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM)
  • Knowledge of medical staff services function and structure
  • Knowledge of credentialing and privileging
  • Knowledge of Det Norske Veritas (DNV) standards
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations related to the credentialing process
  • Knowledge of bylaw, rules and regulations (CMS, NRS)
  • Knowledge of department and hospital safety practice and procedures
  • Knowledge of patient rights
  • Knowledge of age specific patient care practices
  • Knowledge of infection control policies and practices
  • Knowledge of handling, storage, use and disposal of hazardous materials
  • Knowledge of hospital personnel policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures
  • Skill in effectively managing assigned staff
  • Skill in facilitating resolution of conflicts among staff
  • Skill in applying budget principles and practices
  • Skill in identifying and implementing performance standards
  • Skill in problem solving
  • Skill in developing interpersonal relations with department heads and functional areas of the hospital
  • Skill in analyzing and problem solving

  • Skill in utilizing personal computers for data management and information dissemination
