About The Position

Our patients are our number one priority! We're committed to giving children back their childhood! This role involves managing a caseload of medically and culturally diverse inpatient and outpatient families. The Medical Social Worker will assist families and patients by completing biopsychosocial assessments, identifying appropriate resources and referrals, assisting with discharge and transition planning, and serving as a liaison and advocate between the patient and various systems. The position requires knowledge of child development related to diagnosis, assessment, intervention, and referral of children and adolescents, and maintaining a working knowledge of referral sources and community resources within Texas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree in social work from an accredited (CSWE) Social Work Program
  • Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners (TSBSWE) licensure LBSW /LBSW-IPR or LMSW

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in health care social work

  • Meet the needs of the families as identified, presented, or requested by the interdisciplinary team or physician
  • Document information in the medical record consistent with departmental standards
  • Maintain a working knowledge of a variety of referral sources and community resources appropriate for the patient population within the state of Texas
