Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical administrative or secretarial role within a healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and healthcare documentation standards.
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.

Responsibilities

  • Manage complex scheduling for patient appointments, procedures, and follow-ups, coordinating with multiple healthcare providers and departments.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain patient medical records, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with privacy regulations such as HIPAA.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patient inquiries, providing clear and compassionate communication regarding appointments, billing, and medical information.
  • Coordinate insurance authorizations and billing processes by liaising with insurance companies and verifying patient coverage details.
  • Support healthcare providers by preparing correspondence, reports, and documentation necessary for patient care and administrative purposes.
  • Maintain office supplies and equipment, ensuring the administrative environment is organized and efficient.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior administrative staff to uphold departmental standards and procedures.
