Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a medical secretary or administrative assistant program preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a medical office or healthcare administrative role.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare administrative procedures.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or higher in health administration, medical office management, or related field.
  • Experience with insurance billing and coding processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage complex scheduling for multiple healthcare providers, including patient appointments, meetings, and procedures.
  • Maintain and update patient medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, addressing inquiries, providing information, and coordinating follow-up care.
  • Prepare and process medical correspondence, reports, and billing information accurately and promptly.
  • Coordinate communication between medical staff, patients, insurance companies, and external agencies to facilitate smooth operations.
