About The Position

In this position, you will support healthcare providers, contribute to a positive patient experience, and be part of a collaborative, patient-focused team dedicated to making every visit meaningful. Position Summary: The primary responsibility of the Medical Scribe is to provide real-time documentation support to on-site practitioner. The Medical Scribe ensures accurate and complete recording of patient encounters, clinical procedures, and treatment plans, allowing on-site practitioner to focus on patient care while maintaining high standards of documentation quality and compliance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of one (1) year working as a Medical Scribe or in a clinical documentation role in medical practice.
  • Working knowledge of: Medical equipment and clinical instruments
  • Working knowledge of: Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
  • Understanding of: Medical terminology, anatomy, and common clinical conditions
  • Understanding of: Clinical workflows and patient encounter processes in a medical settings
  • Understanding of: Documentation standards, accuracy, and real-time charting requirements
  • Understanding of: Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and proper data entry practices
  • Understanding of: Physician dictation, instructions, and medical decision-making processes

Responsibilities

  • Accompany the on-site practitioner during patient visits to accurately document medical histories, physical exams, assessments, and treatment plans in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Record patient information, including history of present illness, review of systems, and past medical history.
  • Document procedures, diagnostic results, and physician instructions in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist with chart preparation prior to patient visits, ensuring all relevant information is available.
  • Support on-site practitioner with administrative tasks such as completing forms, referrals, and prescription documentation.
  • Ensure all documentation meets quality and compliance standards.
  • Communicate effectively with on-site practitioner and clinical staff to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Escort patients to check-out or optical dispensary areas as needed to ensure a smooth transition of care.
  • Seek guidance from senior staff when necessary and perform duties within the scope of training and competency.
