About The Position

This role is a part-time opportunity at BioLife, designed for flexibility with shifts typically lasting 4 to 6 hours per day, 3 or more days per week. The position involves screening donors, collecting plasma, and performing phlebotomy to support plasma center operations. The company emphasizes customer service, quality, and reliability. The role offers daily pay and is intended to provide extra income or valuable experience for individuals with busy lives. The Medical Screener reports to the Plasma Center Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above shoulders and below knees
  • Ability to lift to 5 lbs., and occasional lifting of materials up to 32 lbs. and rarely 50 lbs.
  • Fine motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance
  • Prolonged glove wear required for approximately 90% of work tasks due to potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens (risk level 1)

Nice To Haves

  • 1 or more years minimum experience working in a customer or patient facing role is helpful

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones, greet and focus on donors, ensuring the safety of donors and the team.
  • Screen new and repeat donors, taking and recording vital signs and finger stick results.
  • Utilize the Donor Information System, prepare donor charts, maintain accurate records, and coordinate donor compensation.
  • Identify operational opportunities for continuous improvement and initiate changes to center processes using company-approved procedures.
  • Work a variety of shifts, including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, to support donors.
