Medical Screener/Phlebotomist

About The Position

The Medical Screener/Phlebotomist supports plasma center operations by screening plasma donors and performing phlebotomy. The role focuses on donor safety, customer service, and collecting high-quality plasma that will be used to make medicines. The position reports to the Plasma Center Manager and is part-time, with most shifts lasting 4 to 6 hours per day on 3 or more days per week. Shift days and times will be discussed early in the interview process, and schedule changes will be communicated in advance. The role may involve a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, in a fast-paced, friendly environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 1 year of experience working in a customer-facing or patient-facing role is helpful.
Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above shoulders and below knees.
Ability to lift up to 5 lbs., occasionally lift materials up to 32 lbs., and rarely lift up to 50 lbs.
Fine motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance.
Ability to wear gloves for prolonged periods; 90% of work tasks require prolonged glove wear due to potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens (risk level 1).

Responsibilities

Answer phones and greet donors while focusing on donor needs and ensuring the safety of donors and the team.
Screen new and repeat donors and take and record donor vital signs and finger stick results.
Use the Donor Information System, prepare donor charts, maintain accurate records, and coordinate donor compensation.
Identify operational opportunities for continuous improvement and initiate changes to center processes using company-approved procedures.
Work a variety of shifts, including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
