About The Position

Inizio Engage has partnered with an innovative leader in diagnostic testing and laboratory technology to identify a field-based Medical Science Liaison (MSL). This role supports advanced diagnostic platforms, instrumentation, and digital solutions that are transforming clinical decision-making and laboratory operations across healthcare systems. As a customer-facing, field-based medical expert, the MSL engages pathologists, laboratory directors, healthcare professionals, and key opinion leaders to facilitate scientific exchange and support the successful implementation and integration of diagnostic tests and equipment within hospital and clinical laboratory environments. The MSL serves as a scientific and technical resource, translating complex diagnostic technologies into clear clinical value and operational impact that enhances patient care pathways. Requirements

  • Advanced scientific degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, or similar), OR a Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, OR NP/RN licensure, with meaningful clinical experience
  • Strong understanding of healthcare systems, clinical care pathways, hospital environments, and/or clinical laboratory workflow
  • Ability to confidently engage pathologists, laboratory leaders, and healthcare professionals in scientific and technical dialogue
  • Experience communicating complex medical or diagnostic information clearly and concisely
  • Familiarity with diagnostic platforms, laboratory instrumentation, digital pathology, or related technologies
  • Experience translating diagnostic or laboratory innovation into clinical and operational value

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in oncology diagnostics, FDA-regulated environments, prior MSL roles, or supporting clinical study/site implementation is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leads efforts in recognizing, identifying, cultivating, and integrating KOL relationships within pathology, oncology diagnostics, and laboratory medicine environments.
  • Identifies opportunities to support scientific exchange and appropriate clinical adoption of diagnostic platforms and laboratory technologies.
  • Engages healthcare professionals, pathologists, laboratory directors, IT stakeholders, and thought leaders to support integration of diagnostic tests and equipment into clinical care pathways and hospital workflows.
  • Serves as a scientific and technical expert in diagnostic platforms, digital pathology systems, image management systems, and computational technologies as applicable.
  • Translates the value of laboratory innovation into clear clinical and operational application across oncology and broader healthcare systems.
  • Supports clinical study site readiness and technical implementation activities, ensuring platforms, instrumentation, and workflows are functioning effectively.
  • Provides balanced, evidence-based education to internal and external stakeholders regarding scientific data, technical procedures, and clinical utility.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to provide insights related to workflow efficiency, operational impact, and field needs.
  • Interprets, analyzes, and summarizes scientific publications, technical procedures, and clinical practice guidelines to inform scientific dialogue.
  • Supports coordination of local expert adjudication committees and other scientific initiatives as needed.
