About The Position

RenovoRx is seeking its first Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to serve as a scientific and clinical expert and build trusted relationships with healthcare professionals—primarily medical, surgical, and radiation oncologists—across academic and community settings. The MSL will help physicians and their staff become experts in the TAMP therapy platform, bridge scientific evidence and clinical practice, deliver medical education, and generate actionable field insights. The role reports to the Chief Medical Officer and partners with the management team and cross-functional colleagues. It is a high-visibility, field-based position requiring an entrepreneurial approach to identifying and gaining access to oncology decision-makers, engaging them in peer-to-peer discussions of Phase III data relative to the standard of care, and working closely alongside Sales. As Medical Affairs grows, the MSL may have the opportunity to help build and lead the field function. RenovoRx’s TAMP platform is designed to deliver therapeutic agents across the arterial wall near a tumor. RenovoCath is an FDA-cleared drug-delivery catheter in commercial use since December 2024. Intra-arterial gemcitabine (IAG) delivered via RenovoCath is investigational and has been evaluated in the Phase III TIGeR-PaC trial for locally advanced pancreatic cancer. The posting describes interim trial findings and a peer-reviewed pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic sub-study; scientific communications about the investigational product must remain non-promotional and compliant. The position is remote for candidates anywhere in the U.S. near a major airport and requires significant travel, approximately 14 days per month, to clinical sites, conferences, and internal meetings. Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes an annual bonus opportunity and stock options.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in life science or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison; ideally in GI medical oncology supporting liquid biopsies, drug-device combinations, or drug-delivery systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct medical education programs and build strong partnerships with community and academic centers.
  • Deep understanding of NCCN and ASCO guidelines, oncology treatment paradigms, and emerging therapeutic technologies.
  • Skill presenting scientific data, developing abstracts and manuscripts, and contributing to publication planning.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills; collaborative approach.
  • Confidence engaging physicians in comparative discussions of Phase III oncology data and challenging assumptions with evidence.
  • Ability to identify and secure access to KOLs and decision-makers proactively, without relying solely on sales-generated introductions.
  • Strong analytical and organizational capabilities, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to engage KOLs, clinicians, and investigators across oncology subspecialties.
  • Self-starter comfortable working independently in a field-based role at a small company without a large support structure.
  • Ability to fluently discuss oncology topics, including patient subtyping and emerging modalities such as KRAS inhibitors, ctDNA, CA19-9, oncolytic viruses, TILs, and CAR-T.
  • Proficiency with CRM and digital engagement tools; examples include Asana and Salesforce.
  • Commitment to ethical conduct and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to meet vendor credentialing requirements necessary for client-site access, unless prohibited by law; site requirements may include identification, background checks, drug screens, immunizations, annual TB testing, and healthcare training.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 14 days per month to clinical sites, conferences, and internal meetings.

Nice To Haves

  • PhD, PharmD, or MD; an MD (U.S. or internationally trained) or PhD in pharmacology is especially valued.
  • Oncology MSL experience with a small or niche pharmaceutical or biotech company; candidates with large-pharma careers should also have experience in smaller organizations.
  • Pharmaceutical oncology background, preferred over device MSL experience; drug-device combination experience is welcome.
  • Liquid biopsy or ctDNA oncology market experience.
  • Experience generating medical oncology referrals into interventional or locoregional therapies.
  • Established relationships with medical oncologists, particularly in pancreatic and GI cancers.

  • Host and co-develop peer-to-peer webinars, dinner meetings, and local workshops with Sales and Marketing.
  • Provide center-specific training, including on patient selection criteria and adverse-event mitigation.
  • Teach internal and external training courses as a subject matter expert on treatments utilizing RenovoCath technology.
  • Proactively identify and secure meetings with medical oncology KOLs and decision-makers at high-volume target cancer centers.
  • Build access to medical oncologists, practices, and tumor boards beyond the reach of the interventional radiology-focused sales team.
  • Partner with Sales to support opening new academic and community cancer centers.
  • Engage clinical centers virtually and in person to identify trends, barriers, and opportunities in care delivery.
  • Gather and synthesize field insights to inform Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, and Communications strategies.
  • Submit monthly reports highlighting clinical trends, physician feedback, and competitive intelligence.
  • Use CRM systems to track field activity, interactions, and KOL engagement.
  • Represent RenovoRx at scientific meetings, symposia, congresses, and hosted events; attend sessions, engage investigators, and communicate relevant findings internally.
