About The Position

NaphCare is hiring a Medical Scheduler to join their team of medical professionals in the Montgomery Womens Correctional Facility. This role involves scheduling off-site appointments for individuals in residence, making a difference in a diverse patient population. Both Full Time and Part Time positions may be available.

Requirements

• Must have a high school diploma or GED certificate.
• Must possess strong written communication and verbal skills.
• Must be adaptable to environments where conditions may not be pristine, and manage and maintain in stressful situations.
• Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information and integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct.
• Must comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
• Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

• Prior training in a medical office setting scheduling medical appointments and working with medical records preferred.
• A working knowledge of medical terminology and various types of medical specialties.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.

Responsibilities

• Managing and coordinating healthcare appointments for the facility.
• Scheduling various medical appointments, including on-site clinic visits and off-site specialist appointments, as recommended by medical staff.
• Maintaining accurate and confidential medical records, including entering consultation requests into the system and managing patient information.
• Arranging transportation for inmates to and from appointments, ensuring timely and secure transfers.
• Effectively communicating with healthcare staff, patients, and other relevant parties regarding appointments, scheduling changes, and other medical information.
• Adhering to all relevant security protocols, confidentiality standards, and HIPAA regulations.
• Utilizing computer systems for scheduling, data entry, and report generation, often handling large volumes of data.
• Additional duties and specific projects as assigned.
