About The Position

This role involves managing medical records and administrative tasks for the Medical Records department. Key responsibilities include making referrals to specialists, handling pre-certifications and authorizations, serving as the Best Chance Network Coordinator, and providing coverage for Medical Records and front desk duties. The position requires maintaining work lists in EMR and performing other assigned duties. Salary is based on a range and determined by the specific requirements of the position and the applicant's relevant skills.

Requirements

  • Must be a high school graduate or GED.
  • Previous specific same skills are preferred over general like skills (e.g., previous medical clerical skills preferred over previous clerical skills for a Medical Receptionist position).

Nice To Haves

  • Clerical experience is preferred but not required.
  • Cross-trained in Medical Records.
  • Cross-trained with the front desk.

Responsibilities

  • Make all referrals to other specialists, including faxing all pertinent information, i.e., patient health information.
  • Handle KNO 2 and some medical record duties for Williston and Blacville site.
  • Secure all pre-certifications and authorizations necessary for insurance companies.
  • Serve as the Best Chance Network Coordinator and complete all related paperwork to enroll and maintain records.
  • Provide Medical Record coverage as cross-trained.
  • Perform scanning, answer phones, and make appointments.
  • Balance the daily work and deposit.
  • Provide front desk coverage when that person is absent as cross-trained.
  • Maintain work list in EMR in a timely fashion as instructed by supervisor.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
