About The Position

Banner Surgery Center – Union Hills, managed by Atlas Healthcare Partners, is a state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center located near Arrowhead Towne Center in Glendale. The center specializes in musculoskeletal and pain management, featuring 4 operating rooms and 2 treatment rooms. Atlas Healthcare and Banner Health have partnered to manage, operate, and grow Banner Surgery Centers across the Southwest, focusing on delivering exceptional patient care and customer service while upholding core values of Integrity, Culture, Teamwork, Respect, and Results. This full-time position assists in maintaining confidential health records in compliance with regulatory requirements and supports clinic front office and billing services through various clerical and administrative functions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED is required.
  • Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
  • Must possess strong organizational abilities.
  • Must be able to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
  • Requires good keyboarding skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with common office software and database.

Nice To Haves

  • Work experience in a medical clerical, physician’s office or other related field
  • Medical terminology strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receives and sorts clinical reports and related information, accurately documenting and/or filing material in appropriate health records following established guidelines and procedures.
  • Maintains the facility’s health records and assists staff in retrieving files in a timely fashion.
  • Enters, tracks, and maintains data in software application systems accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintains department records, verifies accuracy of medical record numbers, and reconciles database information in routine cases, referring complex issues to leadership.
  • Assembles patient medical records using pre-established software procedures and/or chart order, and processes/routes records to appropriate areas.
  • Performs various tasks associated with the department’s daily operations, including greeting patients and staff, answering telephone calls, providing general information, and referring complex inquiries.
  • Provides ongoing clerical and administrative support.
  • Processes and completes routine requests for information for admission, discharge, or continuing patient care.
  • Processes record requests for internal/external audits and reviews, monitors record activity, and communicates with requestors.
  • Directs all release of information inquiries appropriately.
  • Processes and completes routine requests, including dates and copies of face sheets.
  • Forwards all release of information inquiries of a sensitive and confidential nature to the appropriate party.
  • Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, and applicable professional standards.
  • Provides excellent service to all customers by consistently demonstrating core and leader behaviors.
