About The Position

The Scanning Analyst is responsible for the accurate and timely scanning and indexing of patient documents, ensuring that all scanned records are readable, correctly assigned to the appropriate patient and encounter, running daily productivity reports, and completed within specified timeframes. This role involves collaborating with hospital departments, managing document flow, and maintaining quality standards in all scanning activities.

  • Matching documents to the right patient and encounter in the EHR.
  • Managing chart storage, batching, and online logs.
  • Supporting audits and quality checks.
  • Processing pre surgical documents.
  • Resolving workflow issues.
  • Correcting failed EMS document interfaces.
  • Ensuring proper EHR linkage.
  • Assisting with additional HIM tasks to support daily operations.

Responsibilities

  • Prep, scan, and index medical record documents with high accuracy.
  • Conduct concurrent scanning rounds and retrieve/log discharge charts.
  • Ensure all pages are labeled, separated, and scanned clearly.
  • Review and correct indexing in the Document Management System (DMS).
  • Match documents to the right patient and encounter in the EHR.
  • Manage chart storage, batching, and online logs.
  • Support audits and quality checks as needed.
  • Process pre surgical documents and resolve workflow issues.
  • Correct failed EMS document interfaces and ensure proper EHR linkage.
  • Assist with additional HIM tasks to support daily operations.
