About The Position

Harrison County Hospital is seeking a Certified Medical Coder (CCS) for a PRN (as needed) position on the Day Shift. The Coder reports directly to the HIM Director. The Coder performs the assignment of ICD-10 diagnosis and procedures and CPT procedure codes for billing and classification of medical records for both Inpatient and Outpatient charts.

Requirements

• Must have detailed knowledge of third party reimbursement rules and regulations including Medicare and Medicaid.
• Must be able to speak English fluently.
• Must be able to speak and understand medical terminology.
• Must have high school education.
• Must have excellent ICD-10-CM, CPT, and CCS coding skills.
• Must have detailed knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy/physiology.

Nice To Haves

• One year coding work experience in the hospital or physician setting.
• Certified coding specialist, accredited record technician, registered records administrator.

Responsibilities
