About The Position

This is a part-time Medical Records Coder position requiring 40 hours per pay period, with the ability to work remotely. The role involves sitting and reviewing charts, determining principal diagnosis, secondary diagnosis, DRG, CPT, and Modifier assignment. Concurrent work may require moving between floors.

Requirements

• ICD-9, CPT4, APC, and Modifier education.
• Previous computer experience required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
• Assertive personality to present facts succinctly and directly to physicians and other healthcare providers.
• Flexible approach to problem solving.
• Ability to sit and review charts most of the time.
• Ability to determine principal diagnosis, secondary, DRG, CPT, Modifier assignment.

Nice To Haves

• CCS, CPC, RHIT or RHIA preferred.
• Previous coding experience preferred, will train with appropriate coding education.
