Requirements
- Must have at least 1 year experience as a medical records assistant in a skilled nursing facility.
- Must have excellent attention to detail.
- Must be a team player and have a can-do attitude.
Responsibilities
- Create new medical records and retrieves existing medical records by gathering appropriate record folders and contents.
- Responsible for maintaining the files included in a patient's health information portfolio, including medical history, symptoms, examination results, diagnostic tests, treatment methods, and other services.
- Responsible to ensure files are accurate, filled out properly, organized, and secure.
- Code patients’ medical information for reimbursement purposes.
- Medical record copying
- Scans and sends documents as requested
- Schedules appointments
- Verify insurance coverage and patient demographics
- Manage the charts to ensure information is completed and filed appropriately
- Electronically send prescriptions in the EHR (Electronic Health Record) to pharmacies.
