About The Position

Medical Receptionist for our Lagrange Location. Serves as the initial contact for all patients visiting the office. This role involves a variety of administrative and clerical duties to ensure the smooth operation of the front desk and patient reception area.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must obtain and maintain BLS certification.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Strong organizational skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of medical terminology helpful.
  • Bilingual skills a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Answers, screens, and directs calls on a multi-line phone system; takes detailed messages and/or forwards telephone calls to the appropriate department or employee.
  • Clears messages each morning and delivers them to the appropriate department or employee.
  • Meets and greets patients.
  • Prepares and forwards outgoing mail and packages.
  • Performs general clerical duties including filing, photocopying, faxing, and mailing.
  • Maintains supplies, arranges for equipment maintenance, and keeps the reception area organized.
  • Inputs patient information and demographics into the computer system.
  • Verifies demographics and insurance information.
  • Scans all patient documentation, including proof of insurance verification.
  • Ensures all receipts are signed after collecting payments.
  • Ensures all consents are signed.
  • Performs end-of-day cash reconciliation.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly waiting area and patient bathrooms.
  • Demonstrates a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
  • Attends at least 2 community clinic events per year.
