About The Position

Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group is seeking a Medical Receptionist / Business Services Rep to join their team in Naugatuck internal Medicine. This full-time, day shift position involves ensuring efficient patient flow by handling all business functions. These responsibilities include greeting patients, managing phone calls, scheduling appointments, patient registration, verifying insurance, collecting copays and point-of-service payments, processing pre-certifications, prior authorizations, and referrals, preparing charts, managing faxes, and providing clerical support to providers and staff. The role is part of Trinity Health Of New England, a healthcare system offering primary care, specialty care, surgery, urgent care, rehabilitation, and imaging and lab services across Connecticut and western Massachusetts.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent keyboard skills.
  • Requires proficiency in a Windows based computer environment and Microsoft Office products.
  • Accuracy and dependability required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within a medical office or billing department preferred.
  • Knowledge of patient billing and medical terminology preferred

Responsibilities

  • Greets and communicates with patients via phone or in person in a courteous and professional manner identifying themselves and their department.
  • Answers telephones in a timely, courteous, and professional manner utilizing appropriate scripting.
  • Processes calls to ensure patients are transferred to the appropriate staff member/provider in a timely manner.
  • Schedules patient appointments based on department protocols to maximize provider productivity.
